Thanks for visiting the only tribute site for our hero, Lil Pardner. If you stumbled upon this website asking yourself "Who the heck is Lil' Pardner?" Well, I'll just try to answer your question, as well as pass along the life lessons I've learned from our little hero.
Lil' Pardner (or Lil' Partner as some call him) was a relatively unknown sage of wisdom in our otherwise bleak and boring world. His musings and very poignant bits of wisdom will be chronicled and spelled out for all to live by.
Read my complete introduction to Lil's life after the break.
Lil' Pardner was born, the youngest of 12 children, in Hayseed, Oklahoma, in 1953. His humble upbringings were the backbone to his wisdom, and just being so down to earth. His Ma and Pa raised him and his 11 siblings (9 brothers, 2 sisters) in a 2 roomed old schoolhouse. Their daily life consisted of raising antelope and hunting jack-a-lopes. You see, they lived in the heart of lope country. Pa made a good living to care for his 12 children by selling the lope meat to local butcheries. Ma kept the house neat and tidy while Pa and the boys were out on their hunting trips.
Some say that Lil' had an uncanny resemblance to a famous Hollywood puppet, whose name escapes me. I for one, do not see the resemblance, and think that Lil's look and personality were stolen to make money in the evil land of California.
In 1959, when Lil' was only 6, his Pa died, and it was now up to Lil' to provide for his family. Although he had 11 older siblings, Lil' was the one that Pa entrusted all of his hunting and antelope raising knowledge to. Raising antelopes is tricky business. Being that they are native to African and Asian habitats, raising them in the heartland of America was something no one had ever tried, let alone become successful at.
Lil' died at the ripe old age of 47, and along the way had developed quite a knack for gathering and dispensing wisdom to anyone and everyone that happened along his path. I met Lil' in the fall of 1974. Although he was only 21 at the time, he had gathered so much useful wisdom, that he needed to pass it along, or as he said "my head's just might 'plode from all this stuff." He had no Mrs. Pardner, or any little Lil' Pardners, so he was kind enough to pick me to be his grasshopper of his knowledge.
I hope this site is a good enough tribute to Lil's life and legacy, and a place for folks to come back to, in order to learn from him as I had done, so many years ago.
